Fast Fashion is nothing new. Fast Fashion has been a growing aspect of the fashion industry for many years and it’s something that I researched a lot when studying my masters in Fashion Buying. I based my dissertation on the growth of Fast Fashion as well as its effect on the cost of clothing and the decline of the textiles industry in Britain, however, that was around 4 years ago and the pull of Fast Fashion is now even more extreme as our want for constant newness continues to surge. Fast Fashion has a place in all of our lives and wardrobes, but do we truly know and understand the vastness of its effects, which reach to much more than just our clothing choices each day? Well here it is ladies and gents, my 29th year, the LAST year of my twenties! How the hell did that happen? I won’t lie, I’m trying to stay positive but I’m not quite sure how I feel about it…

When I sat down to set myself some goals at the start of the year, one thing I wanted to improve on was making more time for myself. More time for me, more time spent doing the things I love and more time spent away from my phone, laptop – just anything with a screen.

A couple of weeks ago we took to the road and headed to the Cotswolds in order to banish away our January blues. It’s something we’re making a bit of an annual trip – as we did the same mid January last year – and let me tell you, it is always very much welcomed. We had the trip partially as a Christmas present and I honestly love the idea of it – who doesn’t need some time away in the most boring, sober, skint, cold month of the year?!
This time, we stayed in Stow-On-The-Wold in a little hotel called The Old Stocks Inn. Both myself and Dave absolutely loved our time there and didn’t want to come home, so I thought I would share with you 5 reasons why you should most definitely add this to your hotel wish list.
Everyday last week I drove home from work at 6pm hoping that my lovely little Birchbox would have arrived. With it being January and all that, the month of no spending, no alcohol, no sunshine or warmth (can you tell it’s not my fave yet?!) I really just couldn’t wait for a little treat and had been in waiting in anticipation for it to arrive since my last box in December. Continue reading “January Birchbox”
