Autumn is probably my most favourite season to dress for. I love everything about it, the layering, the introduction of knitwear, being able to wear oversized jackets with bare legs and boots, not to mention that I can re-ignite my love for leather trousers, which I would wear all year round if it was up to me.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last month or so, you’ve no doubt seen those H&M knitted vests or gilets that are allllll over the internet. First came the v-neck, then the high neck and now I think I’ve even seen a crop version pop up a couple of days ago. They are the perfect in-between season piece for someone like me who’s pretty much dying to get their knitwear out, but is also still wrestling with some sort of Indian Summer or mini September heatwave.

I recently posted a photograph of myself in an old ASOS trench over on my Instagram and it seems that loads of you guys are similar to me in loving a trench for this time of year. For me, they’re just the perfect transitional jacket to have as they guard you against the elements with an extra layer of clothing, without being too thick or bulky.
