Hands up who’s looking forward to the bank holiday weekend? I know it’s not going to be the usual bank holiday weekend with girls days out, family Easter lunches and egg hunts in the park but I for one, am so looking forward to four days off work to spend pottering around the house – and the garden if the sunshine decides to stay!
We’ve got to celebrate in the best way we can, so for me, that will be still getting dressed up for the occasion and putting my best foot forward – whether that be into the living room or out round the village for my one-hour exercise a day.
So, as I’m sure many of you will be the same, I thought I would put some outfit ideas together to suit the occasion. Of course, it’s the start of the weekend to tomorrow so if you do want any of the pieces below you will have to get your order in quickly, but this post is more about the generation of outfit ideas than buying all new and hopefully you will have similar styles or items in your wardrobe already to use in the outfits below.
Friday Night BBQ & Drinks in the Garden
Fingers crossed we can expect some nice weather on Friday to welcome the weekend. I will be making the most of it and getting straight into the garden, to spend as long as possible lazing in the sun. I picked up the below Nasty Gal playsuit recently and it’s SO nice. The colour, fabric and fit are all perfect for a warm Spring day and one-pieces are just so easy to throw on and create effortless chic.
I’ve also got my eyes on the cute little Zara number below, but you don’t have to buy new. Throw on your sunnies with any playsuit in your wardrobe and you have an easy outfit, good-to-go.
Saturday Morning Brunch At Home & an Afternoon Walk
Something I absolutely love is making the most of my weekend mornings by indulging in a nice breakfast and taking things slow, so this weekend I have a couple of brunch menus planned, which will no doubt make my soul smile.
A Saturday afternoon walk in the sun to burn off that brunch and make the most of the one hour of exercise should definitely be on the cards for all of us, so I’ve gone for easy to wear dress styles, along with pumps and a cross body bag to tick the box on both comfort and style.
Sunday Best for A Homemade Easter Lunch
For me, Easter Sunday is almost on par with Christmas day and I’m definitely one of those people who dresses up for the occasion – I’m not one for staying in pj’s all day. So this Sunday I’ll be going all out in my Sunday best ready to be sat at the kitchen table with my love.
Suits are a huge trend this Spring/Summer (blog post coming soon) so whether it’s a short suit or pair of slouch trousers paired with a cute jacket, get dressed up in your Sunday best and make your Easter lunch a bit of an occasion.
Bank Holiday Monday Guilt-Free Duvet Day
Of course, there has to be at least one duvet day over the Easter bank holiday to get over that hangover and make our way through all the chocolate eggs. My plan on Monday is to throw on my comfiest loungewear, settle on the sofa and binge my way through Netflix or my favourite films from morning until night.
I love this quilted co-ord below from ASOS because the fabric adds something extra to what would have been a standard grey jogger and jumper set. Once you’ve found your comfy clothes, throw your hair up with a scrunchie and get into your favourite slippers and you’re ready for your duvet day to commence.
I hope you’ve found some inspiration in my ideas above and although it’s a bank holiday weekend, please stay safe and stay home.
