You might be wondering why I’m talking to you about a new boot trend whilst we are moving into February. However, in the UK, Winter only officially begins very late in December and we always tend to get the coldest snap of weather throughout the first couple of months of the year – sometimes even with the odd flurry of snow arriving in March as well – so, although we all have our Summer holidays insight, this is a great time to jump on a new boot trend to keep those toes warm until you can get your sandals out.
One reason why I love buying into a boot trend around this time of the year is that it will carry you through into Spring when you can pair your boots with dresses and bare legs, but also, we usually get the same trends carried through into the following Autumn and Winter, so you’ll already have your Winter boots ready to go come September.
Unless you’ve been walking around with your eyes closed since Christmas, you will have no doubt seen the new boot on the block, taking form in a ‘track sole’ or patrol style chunky-as-hell ankle boot and I will admit that it is one of my favourite styles of ankle boot in a really long time. I love the practical, yet stylish vibe they bring and they fit perfectly with my own personal style by helping me add a hint of masculinity to anything that I wear.
Bottega Veneta absolutely set the trend with their luxe beauties below, but for those of us on a lower budget, there are some amazing dupes and alternatives all over the high street for you to get your hands on.
Bottega Veneta mid-ankle track sole boots £750
Bershka Stretch platform ankle boots with track soles £49.99
ASOS DESIGN Action chunky chelsea boots in black £30.00
Zara LEATHER TIED TRACK SOLE ANKLE BOOTS £119.00
& Other Stories Chunky Sole Leather Chelsea Boots £165
Nasty Gal You’re in the Driving Cleat Faux Leather Boots £40.00
Zara FLAT LEATHER ANKLE BOOTS WITH TRACK SOLE £95.99
Topshop ALBIE Ecru Leather Chunky Chelsea Boots £89.00
Zara TRACK SOLE LEATHER ANKLE BOOT £99.99

Some of the styles are really over-sized and chunky so just be careful what you style them with, making sure to balance out proportions and don’t leave yourself too ‘bottom heavy’. I’ve gathered some inspo over on my Pinterest account (as always) so head over there if you need a little helping hand.
