When scouting the new season trends or even just general outfit inspiration throughout the year, Instagram is, of course, an absolute go-to but I also find myself drawn to Pinterest just as much, especially when looking for street style inspiration which is a big contributing factor in how I choose to dress.
I absolutely love street style fashion and the vibe it gives off, so when I find a trend I love I will always go to Pinterest and search different ways to wear it to give me some inspiration before buying into the trend.
Around this time of year, leather or faux leather pieces creep back onto the fashion scene usually in the form of leggings, trousers and jackets. My faux leather trousers are one of my all-time favourite Autumn/Winter wardrobe additions and I’m usually fighting with myself to put them away when it becomes to warm to wear them anymore. This year, the leather trend is back more than ever and it’s a trend that I’m completely and utterly bought into already.
My Instagram was swamped with full leather looks from the fashion crowds as they gathered at recent fashion weeks across the globe – so, in true fashion, I took to Pinterest to gather some inspo.
After hours scouring Pinterest finding new and different ways to style a trend, I’ll browse different stores online as well as my own wardrobe to see what pieces I can put together to bring a trend to life for myself. Luckily, I already own a few pairs of leather-look trousers and jackets to give me a good base for some new outfits but I, of course, had my eye on a couple of new bits to update and modernise the way I’m wearing faux leather this year.
One of the new bits I had my eye on for a while was a puff sleeve shirt from Zara. Initially, I was a little apprehensive at how comfortable it would be to wear however it has a softer lining making it easy to wear and extra snug at the same time. Paired with my leather-look trousers and suede, lace-up boots this is one of my favourite looks of the moment.
I’ve got so many leather or leather-look pieces saved in my online wishlists but above all, Zara are absolutely killing this trend right now. So I’ve put together a little edit below where you can shop all of my fave pieces from their current collection. Each item is faux leather and under £50 so a great, affordable way to buy into the leather look trend.
1. Slouchy Trousers £25.99
2. Pleated Skirt £29.99
3. Shirt £29.99
4. Overshirt £49.99
5. Dress £49.99
6. Bermuda Shorts £25.99
7. Flared Leggings £19.99
8. Jacket £49.99
These items will be clear staples for me over the next few months so I’ll be posting more ways to style them over on my Instagram which you can find here.
