Wedding Guest Outfits for Spring 2019

Wedding season is upon us and isn’t it just amazing?! I don’t think I know anyone, who doesn’t absolutely LOVE a good wedding. They’re just so full of love and all of the positive vibes, so there’s just no way to walk away from a wedding not feeling good about life (once you’ve got over the hangover from hell ofc).

I adore getting myself dressed for a wedding because it’s the perfect opportunity to go ALL IN and totally dress up; go wild with accessories – the bigger the fascinator the better! As you read this, I’m nursing a hangover from my brothers’ wedding yesterday and I’ll confess, I was completely last minute larry when finding an outfit for the event. Last minute, as in the dress was delivered 7 days ago and that is really not like me, especially for an event such as this – I usually like to be prepared way in advance. If you follow me on Twitter, you might remember I went out for some help because I couldn’t find what I wanted.

So, in honour of the upcoming season and so that you don’t have to be last minute outfit styling like me, I thought I would put together a post featuring a whole range of wedding guest outfits from the high street. Hopefully, you’ll find some inspiration in one of the categories below.

Midi Dresses

I’m absolutely not about wearing short dresses to a wedding so for me, midi is the perfect length. For my brothers’ wedding, I wore the polka dot wrap dress below and it was perfect for the occasion paired with ‘barely there’ heels and a huge fascinator. I also think that for a Spring wedding, you can go for brighter colours and not look out of place, which is why the below are all good options.

Either a wrap or a-line shape skirt will be most flattering to any body shape so if you’re slightly more body-conscious maybe opt for one of the above.

4. ASOS WHITE cross over Dress £95.00
5. Monsoon Jacquard Dress £99.00

Floral

If bright, block colours aren’t for you, a floral option is always the next best thing. A floral dress is always high on my list when shopping for wedding guest dresses or christenings for that matter. I think the delicate prints and colours incorporate being dressed up and stylish, as well as looking 100% Spring ready but without taking over and being ‘too much’.

Floral is probably the ‘safe’, go-to option for a wedding but if done right, can look absolutely stunning.

8. H&M Long Dress with Collar £79.99

10. Hope & Ivy Wrap Dress £85.00

Jumpsuits

A jumpsuit is THE perfect alternative to a dress when attending a wedding. My preference would always be a long, wide leg style so the lemon Mango one below is something I would go for, however, a cropped leg or even playsuit would do the job so I’ve popped a few different styles in for you to see.

My advice would be to style a jumpsuit up with jewellery and accessories to really make your outfit wedding appropriate.

Suits & Co-ords

Suits and co-ords have really come back into mainstream fashion over the past year or two and I totally think they are an appropriate option to style up for a wedding outfit. You might have already been to countless weddings and worn enough floral dresses to last you a lifetime, so go for a gorgeous suit, pair it with a fascinator and some killer heels and you will be good to go.
