The Spring 2019 Staple Piece: Off-White Jeans

Every season, there’s always a couple of pieces that come through and absolutely take the fashion world by storm. Those pieces may be things we have seen popping up more modestly throughout previous seasons and with a slight re-design have come to life or they may be something we’ve never even considered picking up before, however, this fashion life cycle never fails and as the new season comes round there are always one or two statement pieces that creep up and are suddenly everywhere we look, in 20 different styles, sizes and variations.

One of those pieces for me this Spring, is the off-white denim jean.

I know that white skinny jeans in particular usually come back into stores every Summer, however, this year is different; we’re not opting for the bright white jean for a change and I think this is partly due to this years colour trends, with beige being a huge focus for Spring.

It’s not just the colour difference either; this years lighter coloured denim exists in the form of straight jeans, skinny jeans, mom jeans, boyfriend jeans, boiler suits, skirts and much, much more. For me, this is AMAZING as I don’t usually like a white skinny. I find they can be SO difficult to wear if you’re not mega slim as they show every lump and bump, it can be hard to make them look stylish rather than tacky and the fabric can often be quite see-through, so I’m happy to see this season switch it up a bit with a slightly different shade and more flattering shapes.

If you’re looking for one piece to buy now to help elevate any of your looks and update your Winter wardrobe for Spring, definitely go for a pair of off-white or almost creamy coloured denim jeans. This pair is from H&M and I have not taken them off since they arrived. I love pairing them with a plain boxy t-shirt and over-sized blazer or an all cream look made up of a cosy, cream knit and my Supergas.

They were very long so I’ve altered them by a few inches and I’m just under 5’7″ so bear that in mind if you’re thinking of buying them.

Moving into Spring, I’m thinking of pairing these jeans with a sage green knit and even more variations of the all cream look with different sweaters and shirts.
