Got your hands on one yet? If not, why not?! I don’t care what you say, unless you have been confined to your bedroom for the past 2 months with no access to the outside world, you will have 100% seen that these jackets are absolutely everywhere.
Every single retailer has at least one style to offer and more often than not they have numerous variations on colour, size of check, length and fit. There’s so much choice, I’m sure almost anyone could find their perfect piece.
So you’re probably thinking “Why is everybody so obsessed with them?”
First of all, a blazer is the perfect item for this time of year. It’s ideal to throw on over jeans and a t-shirt when you want something different than the usual leather jacket and it can smarten up a casual outfit in the most effortless of ways. I don’t really find I wear a blazer at any other time of the year.
But why the Prince of Wales Check?? Again, it’s smart but not too over the top and on the contrary to a block coloured piece, the muted grey tones make it a much easier, all round item that anyone can feel comfortable wearing.
It took me quiiiiiite some time to find one that I loved. I searched EVERYWHERE. I found a couple I liked, then by the time I got round to ordering them, they were out of stock (cry). I’m not usually the biggest fan of check print clothing, I find sometimes the line between check and dog-tooth gets blurred and there’s something about dog-tooth prints that I just can’t quite bring myself to like. I eventually dropped onto this one from Bershka and loved it from the second it caught my eye.
I got the jacket in an XS/S and for someone that’s usually an 8-10 in UK sizing it fits perfectly for me. It is a little oversized but becomes more fitted once you tie the waist belt and (get this) it has shoulder pads for that extra definition and shape which I adore.
So far i’ve only really styled it with skinny jeans and boots, along with my new fave baker boy seen above ^^^ however, it will no doubt be featured in various outfits on my Instagram throughout Autumn.
