The Holiday Edit: Swimwear with Sass

So I’m off to Marbella in a few weeks and I’m officially on holiday countdown. It doesn’t take much to be honest, I could book a holiday for 3 years time and I would still be counting down from the second I hand over that deposit.

If you’re anything like me, you will know that travel is life whether that is taking an hours drive to Liverpool, a quick flight over to Europe or even further a field – for me there is nothing better than discovering new countries and cities, learning the languages, experiencing the different foods and culture and if it’s a more sunnier climate, well I mean, that’s just an added bonus.

With this in mind, I decided to create a bit of a blog series for all things holiday related.. And so THE HOLIDAY EDIT was born.

As you have hopefully seen from the title, this ones all about swimwear. I have been scouring the internet to find my favourite pieces and have come across 5 stand-out styles I think will be popular throughout Summer ’17.

Swimsuits

So first off is the swimsuit. I don’t know about you, but there was a time I would not go near a full body swimsuit. They were anything but the look I wanted to portray round the poolside and were just not flattering at all. I think I was just traumatised from day one, wearing my blue and black Speedo cozzy to school swimming classes. Anyway, I think we can all agree that swimsuit styles have stepped up since the class of ’00 and definitely channel more Pam Anderson Baywatch vibes now than ever before with added side boob and a super low back.

Gingham

If you weren’t expecting Gingham to be a pick in this edit, then WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL YEAR?! Seriously though? Gingham print is everywhere so if you are truly after continuing that Spring/Summer style on the beach, one of these could be for you.

Embroidery

Aside from gingham, one of my other favourite trends this summer is floral embroidery. Embroidered jeans, shirts, jackets, tees, SHOES. I am loving it all. So, I thought it only fair that I extend my adoration to some sassy swimwear that might inspire you to give the trend a go too. The micro embroidery used on swimwear can give a simple piece that extra bit of detail and it just looks so pretty!

Tropical Print

For me, if you are looking for something with a stunning print and just as stunning colours to help you stand out, then the tropical print swimwear theme is the one for you. I will 100% be picking up a piece or 2 for my holidays this year. For me, the brighter the better but I have added in a more subtle style for you here too.

Bardot

So the Bardot swimwear trend is definitely the most sassy style of the lot. Having your full shoulders on show is so flattering, but the extra arm detail gives that added sense of style and a much more girly look than your standard bandeau bikini. Although I absolutely LOVE this style, I actually tan within about 5 seconds of being in the sun so I would 100% have stripes across my arms the second I got by the pool. Maybe I should save this one for a day posing at Ocean Beach Club in the shade of the umbrella!
