Gingham Gal

I won’t lie to you, it’s taken me a while to get on board with the gingham trend and I’m still not fully there. Picnic blankets and little bow headbands are basically what sprung to mind when I first heard that gingham was making a comeback, so I don’t think I quite realised just what a comeback it would be!

With that in mind, I have struggled to find pieces that suit my personal style. Overall, I have found things are mainly either too girly and pretty, or wayyyyyyy to extravagant – I mean a full gingham trouser suit just isn’t for me.

So…when I saw this little wrap dress from Missguided I immediately snapped it up.

The sleeves are elbow length and are ruffled which adds that extra bit of detail to the dress (also – two trends in one, high five to the Missguided design team). The length is just right for me and the wrap style, with a tie waist is so flattering for almost every body shape.

The main reason I love this dress so much is because I can pair it with so many other pieces and completely change the look. Here I styled it with my trusty Topshop studded boots but a leather jacket and some silver loafers would take it in another direction, as would replacing the tie with a waist belt and pair of heels.

It’s such a versatile, on trend piece and I love it!
