Happy Easter my lovelies!
I’m back this weekend with one of my personal fave type of blog posts to read – that is Monthly Favourites. These posts are where I look for the majority of my beauty and skincare inspiration as I figure if someone else is happy to use a product so much that it made their favourites – then it must be worth a try for me too!
I’ve been doing a little more research into skincare recently as I think the change in weather has played havoc with my skin so I have been really thinking about what products I’m using and making sure they are the best for me and the changing seasons. Skincare is always one of my priorities anyway, as to be honest I’ve never been the best at applying make up! So I try my best to perfect what’s underneath as I don’t do the best job at covering it up.
I’m no skincare or beauty expert but I thought I’d talk you through why these products are my favourites in the hope of maybe helping a few of you guys out too.
So, without further a-do, here are a few products I’ve been loving through the month of March!
- Nip+Fab Dragon’s Blood Fix Plumping Serum
I use this serum every morning and night before my moisturiser and I absolutely love it! Recently, I had been noticing that my skin felt quite dry (I usually have oily/combination skin) and my make up just was not sitting right. It would go quite flaky and patchy in certain areas – something I’ve never really experienced before. Since using this serum, my make up sits perfectly once again and my skin looks a lot plumper and generally more hydrated, even with no make up on. I know a serum is not always top of everyones skincare list, but I honestly think it’s a must have and this one has done my skin the world of good.
- Mario Badescu Glycolic Eye Cream
So I’ll be turning 28 this year and I’ve started to notice a few more lines appearing that weren’t there before, particularly around my eye area. After quite a bit of research I decided to go for this Mario Badescu eye cream which I got from Beauty Bay. After one use, I was amazed at the difference and after a few days, the skin around my eye was visibly different with less lines than before.
If you don’t know much about Glycolic Acid I would advise getting a bit of reading in to make sure it’s the right type of acid for you.
One quick tip – This acid will make your skin sensitive to sunlight so an SPF day cream is a must.
- NYX Soft Matt Lip Cream
I can’t really say this product is a new favourite as I’ve been obsessed with them now for months. On a day to day basis it’s the only lip product I use and I’ve built up quite a collection of colours. I love a matte lip but I usually get quite dry lips and constantly have to moisturise which means the standard matte products are an absolute no for me.
I think I saw these in a monthly favourites video on You Tube and I haven’t looked back since. The consistency is perfect, not too heavy and the colour pay off is great. I usually build it up with a couple of layers but it stays put for hours. Although a little drying, they are nowhere near as bad as other brands I’ve tried so for anyone similar to me, I would recommend giving these a try.
- Beauty Blenders
I’ve been using beauty blenders now for a while, but only recently started using them to actually apply my foundation rather than using a brush. I may be slightly behind the times with this but it’s a new thing for me and I’m still pretty excited about it – so you’ll have to let me off!
I find that I can get the coverage much more even than with a usual foundation brush and the blend, well, it’s not called a beauty blender for nothing.
Let me know if you have tried any of the above products and what your current favourites are..
I love using beauty blenders, they are so good!❤
